Consultation on draft Additional Learning Needs and Education Tribunal (Wales) Bill

This draft Bill sets out Welsh Government's proposals for a new legislative system to support children and young people aged 0-25 who have additional learning needs.

The new system would replace the existing legislation surrounding special educational needs and the assessment of children and young people with learning difficulties and/or disabilities in post-16 education and training.

The consultation document and response form are available on the Welsh Government website and should be read alongside the draft Bill and explanatory notes.

A draft Additional Learning Needs Code is currently being developed and it is hoped that this will be available for consultation in the autumn.

Welsh Government are also planning on holding engagement events across Wales to enable children and young people to feed in their views on the Bill.
